What Happens Next?

Official Plan & Zoning By-Law Open House and Public Meetings will be scheduled in Spring 2022 to review how your input complements the Provincial requirements - and to further comment on the draft before it’s finalized! How to get involved will be posted in the Spring.

See you then!

*An Official Plan is a guiding set of goals, objectives for physical development of land and land uses for the next 25 years. It applies to all private and municipal lands (excluding Crown Land) within the Township boundary. The Plan provides general direction for the size and location of land uses, such as residential, industrial, offices and shops, and sets out what services will be needed, such as schools, clinics, recreational and park sites; all for the purpose of reducing conflict.

Here is a link to the current Official Plan (1986): Official Plan

A Comprehensive Zoning By-Law is the main implementation tool of the Official Plan. It divides the Township into different land use zones, with detailed maps, which specify the permitted uses in each (e.g., commercial or residential) and the required standards (e.g., building size and location) in each zone.
