  • The Township of Manitouwadge is working with Destination Northern Ontario and the Manitouwadge Economic Development Corporation to develop a Multi-use Trails Master Plan to guide the management and enhancement of existing trails and the potential development of new trails in and around Manitouwadge.  The objective of this initiative is to support the development of trails-based tourism in Manitouwadge, while improving the local and regional trail network to suit the interests of the community.

In this survey, we want to hear what you think about the master plan's draft recommendations. These recommendations have been informed by the technical work completed by the project team and feedback from an earlier public survey, stakeholder consultations, and online discussion forums through the study website. Please visit the study website at https://www.manitouwadge-trails.ca/manitouwadge-trails, and select the “Your Feedback” tab on the homepage to review the community feedback summaries.

Please note that all recommendations are to guide decisions related to future improvements, and implementation of the recommendations over the short, medium and long term and will be dependent on the availability of funding.

The draft recommendations are organized into the following sections:

    1. General Recommendations
    2. Trail Management and Maintenance
    3. Proposed Trailheads
    4. Waterfall and Rapids Trails
    5. Canoe Routes
    6. Proposed Local Trails
    7. Ski and Snowshoe
    8. Mountain Biking
    9. Off-Highway Vehicles
    10. Snowmobiles

The complete survey takes about 25 minutes to complete, although you have the option of skipping sections.
