The Township of Manitouwadge is calling all young artists under the age of 13 to send in submissions for a local youth art contest.

What is the Theme?

The theme of the contest was, "Why I love living in Manitouwadge". Submissions can be made in the following categories:

  • Traditional Art Media (painting or drawing)
  • Digital Art Media (computer based software)
  • Photographic Media (photography)

How do I Submit my Artwork?

Artwork can be submitted electronically by clicking on "Submit Artwork Here" located at the bottom of this page.

How will my Artwork be Judged?

A group of artistic staff and volunteers will review all artwork submitted and selected the submissions to be showcased. All submissions become the property of the Township of Manitouwadge and may be used in other publications at a future date including both print and online formats. Artistic credit will be given if any submissions are used for print and online purposes.

Where will the Selected Art be Displayed?

Winning artists will have their artwork displayed at the Recreation Centre and on pole banners located throughout the Township. The submissions for artwork to be displayed on the Art Wall at the Recreation Centre is professionally printed on aluminum metal sheets and installed on the exterior walls of the arena, located across from the Skate Park and between the pillars as shown below. There are several locations available to fill.

Artwork selected to be printed on banners will be professionally printed and installed on the light poles throughout the Township.


When will the Winners be Notified?

Winners were notified in February 2022 that their artwork was selected to be printed and displayed.

When will my Artwork be Displayed?

Printed artwork will be installed and unveiled in June 2022.

What is the Deadline to Submit Artwork?

The deadline to submit artwork is December 3, 2021.

TERMS & CONDITIONS:

  • Must be a current resident of Manitouwadge to be eligible to participate.
  • For Traditional Art Media, a photograph of the original artwork must be submitted.
  • Artwork must be submitted in high resolution format using JPEG or PNG.
  • One entry per person or group.
  • Artists must keep their original work until winners are selected.
  • Original artwork must be stored in a clean and safe condition (no fold marks, wrinkles, spills, rips, tears, etc.).
  • All images of artwork submitted will become the property of the Township of Manitouwadge. Artistic credit will be given to any submissions printed or displayed online.
  • If you have difficulty uploading your image, please contact Florence MacLean at cao@manitouwadge.ca or 807-826-3227 x 236, prior to the deadline date, to arrange for alternate submission options.
  • Late submissions will not be accepted.
