This year, Administration is requesting that we collect a total of $3,826,711.48 from Payments in Lieu (PIL) and Property Taxation which is $150,268.59 (4.0873%) more than the 2022 Municipal Budget total levy.

Within this request, Administration is seeking $15,402,178 million for Capital Works and Purchases of which $0.00 would be raised from current year PIL and Property Taxation; $3,391,692.00 would be utilized from Reserves; and $3.6 million from long term debt.

The overall residential tax rate for 2023 (including Education Tax), as proposed, would be 6.84801706% which is an increase of approximately 2.96% compared to the 2022 overall residential tax rate and 3.03% increase to the 2022 municipal tax rate. With no changes in Current Value Assessment (CVA), a $50,000 property would see an annual Property Tax increase of close to $138.00 whereas a $100,000 Commercial Property would see an annual Property Tax increase of approximately $303.00 for the 2023 taxation year.

Senior Administration has worked closely with Department Heads to ensure that both operating and capital expenditures have been identified and will continue providing quarterly reporting for the remainder of the year to ensure that any operating variances can be better managed and explained.

Print copies of the September 13, 2023 presentation to Council and the survey are available at the Reception Desk at the Township Office and can be requested by contacting Aaron MacGregor or Florence MacLean, CAO.
