Consultation has concluded
On May 19, 2021 Council participated in a training event to better understand the purpose of Strategic Planning, how a Strategic Plan can be used to move the municipality forward towards achieving prescribed goals and objectives, the importance of community input into the development of a Strategic Plan, and how to implement the goals, objectives and action items coming out of an approved Strategic Plan.
The Township of Manitouwadge had a Corporate Strategic Plan in place for the period of 2007 - 2011 and a Community Strategic Plan in place from 2017 - 2021. On May 19, 2021 Council identified that the goals and objectives, themes and action plans from both plans are still relevant today, with some modest changes.
Throughout 2020, several plans were developed to guide the Township forward with regard to:
1. Community Revitalization;
2. Multi-Use Trails and Tourism Opportunities;
3. Recreation, Parks and Facilities Master Plan.
These three documents are used in the draft 2021 - 2025 Strategic Plan to begin to implement some of the recommendations proposed by the consultants with extensive community input during the development of the plans.

Print copies of the Draft Strategic Plan and survey are available at the Manitouwadge Library or by contacting Florence MacLean, CAO. Survey responses will be collected until July 30, 2021.
